Portfolios > Mokulito/Wood Lithograph

Mokulito is a print technique developed in the 1970’s by Ozaku Schisi and more recently by Ewa Budka. Summer 2017 I was privileged to spend a week at the Art Print Residence in Barcelona on a residency with Ewa.
Mokulito utilizes and adapts the principles of lithography allowing wood to be used as the the print matrix rather than limestone or a specially prepared metal plate. The process allows for the painterly marks and qualities of lithography woodcut to be combined in the same plate.
